Education
With over 30 years of experience as a physical therapist, I have had the privilege of helping countless individuals overcome orthopedic and women’s health-related issues. My expertise extends to treating a wide range of conditions, including back pain, sports injuries, arthritis, and pelvic floor dysfunctions.
In 1985, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT) from Boston University. Since then, I have remained committed to advancing my skills and knowledge, pursuing specialized certifications to enhance my practice. In 2004 and 2014, I became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), demonstrating my expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. My dedication to excellence led me to receive a Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy in 2008. I further expanded my expertise by earning the title of Board Certified Women’s Health Physical Therapist (CWHPT) in 2012, specializing in women’s health issues such as pelvic pain, incontinence, and pregnancy-related discomforts.
Beyond traditional treatments, I recognize the importance of integrating body-mind awareness training and pain science education into my practice. This holistic approach empowers patients to understand the underlying causes of their pain and develop effective self-management strategies. By combining hands-on therapy with pain science education, I help patients achieve long-term pain relief and improved quality of life.
Driven by a passion for helping individuals achieve optimal health and well-being, I am dedicated to supporting you on your journey to a pain-free and active life. On A Personal Note
My journey as a physical therapist began with a focus on orthopedic rehabilitation, working for renowned organizations like Athena Health, Beverly Hospital, and the Lahey Clinic. As I encountered women seeking help with pelvic floor issues, I realized the limited availability of qualified physical therapists specializing in this area. Determined to expand my expertise, I embarked on a continuous learning journey while maintaining my full-time practice.
In 2011, I took a leap of faith and rented space at a doctor’s office near my home on Rocky Neck in Gloucester, starting to see patients on Fridays. This decision marked the beginning of my dream of establishing my own practice [please note, I closed this office in July 2023].
In March 2020, I made a bold move by renting an office in Woburn, just as the COVID-19 pandemic began. Despite these unforeseen circumstances, I remained steadfast in my commitment to providing exceptional care. I adapted my practice to offer telehealth services, ensuring that my patients continued to receive the support they needed during this challenging time.
Along my journey, I met my future husband, Tom, who has become my invaluable business manager. Together, we have embraced life’s challenges and celebrated its triumphs. We cherish our time spent on the water, stand-up paddle-boarding on Gloucester Harbor, and invigorating walks along the scenic paths of Eastern Point, Appleton Farms, and Crane Beach. My involvement with the East Rock Sangha, where I served as past president, reflects my commitment to community engagement and personal growth.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve my patients and make a positive impact on their lives. My passion for physical therapy continues to grow with each patient I encounter, and I am committed to providing the highest quality care for many years to come.
